California's longest running AQHA-sanctioned Ranch Horse Versatility event is now a Ranching Heritage Challenge as well. The Ranch Horse Classic spans two days, with all divisions in both shows competing on both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday classes are Cutting, Trail & Ranch Riding, and Sunday classes are Reining, Cow Work and Conformation.
Both the Ranch Versatility and Ranching Heritage Challenge shows are both open breed and AQHA sanctioned. This means that riders on AQHA registered horses can earn points in any division- Open, Amateur, Limited Amateur or Youth Limited. Additionally, participants may opt to enter individual classes and can earn AQHA points for that class only. But of course as in years past you are not required to ride a quarter horse! Riders on non-AQHA horses may still compete and be eligible for the day’s prizes and awards, just not AQHA points.
We hope you will enter and also bring your friends and family. We’ve a great judge, good food and a beautiful setting for these exciting events. Prizes will be awarded to Champion, Reserve Champion and Runner Up in the Open, Amateur, Limited Amateur and Youth divisions. Additionally, there will be First Place awards for both shows in all divisions for each individual class, and a high-scoring Junior Horse award.
