Central Coast Ranch Horse Classic @ Grounds

NEW FORMAT: California's longest running AQHA-sanctioned Ranch Horse Versatility event is now a Ranching Heritage Challenge as well. The Ranch Horse Classic spans two days, with all divisions in both shows competing on both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday classes are Cutting, Trail & Ranch Riding, and Sunday classes are Reining, Cow Work and Conformation.

Both the Ranch Versatility and Ranching Heritage Challenge shows are both open breed and AQHA sanctioned. This means that riders on AQHA registered horses can earn points in any division- Open, Amateur, Limited Amateur or Youth Limited. Additionally, participants may opt to enter individual classes and can earn AQHA points for that class only. But of course as in years past you are not required to ride a quarter horse! Riders on non-AQHA horses may still compete and be eligible for the day’s prizes and awards, just not AQHA points.

We hope you will enter and also bring your friends and family. We’ve a great judge, good food and a beautiful setting for these exciting events. Prizes will be awarded to Champion, Reserve Champion and Runner Up in the Open, Amateur, Limited Amateur and Youth divisions. Additionally, there will be First Place awards for both shows in all divisions for each individual class, and a high-scoring Junior Horse award.

  • 2020 Judge: Karen Arlin of Farmington, CA
  • ALL ENTRIES must be made online. Use the 'Enter Online' button above.
  • Entries received after Saturday, May 2 will incur a $50 late fee (or $10 per individual class)
  • NOTE that general entries will close Monday before the show weekend at 5 pm. Individual classes that do not require cattle (Trail, Ranch Riding, Ranch Reining) will close Wednesday before the show weekend at 5pm.
  • ALSO NOTE that although you may pay by either credit card or check, checks will not be accepted after the cutoff for late entries, Saturday May 2.
  • No scratch/drop fee if Tuesday before the show weekend or earlier; $85 if Wednesday before the show weekend or later (for these classes only: Cutting, Working Ranch Horse)

DOG POLICY: No dogs are permitted on the T&SC grounds during any show or clinic. The Trail & Saddle Club is a horse facility, and the safety of horse and rider is our first priority. Thank you for your cooperation.
