Ellen Eckstein Clinic

May 6 - May 7
  • Dressage Court.
  • A lifelong dedication to furthering the understanding between horses and riders is why Ellen’s approach is for everyone.
Her system of training meets you where you are and shows you and your horse where it is possible to go.

Ellen qualifications include: a successful FEI Dressage career, USDF Gold medal rider, training with many top European and American Dressage Instructors and a successful career as a multi-discipline coach. Her most influential mentor was the legendary Tom Dorrance. He had a profound influence on her life and her horsemanship. Ellen feels that Tom’s principles are universal; they bring out the best in every horse. The softness and balance Ellen demonstrates in her riding is testimony to her reverence for these learnings.

Based in Templeton, California, Ellen considers Carmel Valley her home away from home. Our local equestrian community is incredibly fortunate to have access to her expertise with these regular clinics.

Local trainers Jessica Kent and Danielle Maschmeyer study under Ellen and exemplify her values, horsemanship, and thoughtful approach. Through her students, clinics, and ongoing mentorship, Ellen Eckstein continues to shape a community rooted in respect, curiosity, and a deeper partnership between horse and rider.
