Renting the Club

Every year, the Carmel Valley Trail and Saddle Club is host to various horse shows and clinics. With an all-purpose club house, BBQ grounds and facilities, many private groups also rent the grounds for meetings, parties and other gatherings. History

Over the past many years, club historian Judi Leavelle-King has worked tirelessly to save and share pictures and other material related to our club. This picture is of a 1971 color guard (l-r: Sally Bennett, unk, Danny Kunts, Kristi Klump, Carole Crockett, unk).

By the way, we still have these original rayon flags (now over 50 years old) and you can see them on display each year during our September Ranch Roundup.

Original Site Plan

Here is a scan of the original site plan for the club. The date here would have been late 1950’s. Club historian Judy Leavelle-King reports that the Club was incorporated in November of 1956, with the grounds purchased in 1959. It’s fun to note that in addition to stables, tennis courts and a swimming pool, the plans show croquet, horseshoes, shuffleboard and archery.
